About this Event
Join us for OCEAN SONGS, an immersive, interactive Gaia Music Collective experience where sound and water intertwine.
For this special evening, our artists will dive into the theme of the Ocean and Water, exploring its vastness, power, and fluidity through music. The ocean can be fierce or gentle, deep or expansive, steady or ever-changing—just like song. Expect waves of harmony, moments of stillness, and invitations to move, listen, and sing along.
As always, Gaia shows are interactive, meaning you’re not just an audience member—you’ll be invited to be part of the music. Whether through call-and-response, movement, or collective soundscapes, we’ll create something ephemeral and alive together

ARTIST BIOS:
ALITA MOSES - Alita Moses is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter known for her soulful voice and remarkable versatility. Her talents have taken her all over the world as a band leader, educator, background vocalist and soloist since the age of sixteen, setting her a part as an artist to watch from the get-go. She has notably graced the stage with musical luminaries like Al Jarreau, Chris Botti, Shawn Mendes, Cynthia Erivo, Bilal, Corinne-Bailey Rae, and Jacob Collier. No matter the venue, Alita invites her audiences into her world with open arms and an open heart.
RUTH MILLER -
EMEL - Since her debut in 2012 with Kelmti Horra, EMEL has released intense, revolutionary music. On her newest album, MRA, meaning “woman” in Arabic, EMEL deconstructs to rebuild, boldly pressing forward her vision of a female-driven paradigm shift in a world in desperate need of one. That is why every single collaborator on MRA, from producers, featured artists, musicians, and beyond, is a woman — marginalized in recognition, but outsized in ability. With the help of artists such as Camélia Jordana, Nayomi, and Alyona Alyona, the result is a multi-genre meld where African trap, batucada, Arabic reggaeton, hip hop, and drum n’ bass rub shoulders seamlessly with vibrant melodies and empowering lyrics sung in 5 different languages & 3 dialects. Standout tracks include the sweeping, mantra-like “Souty,” the anthemic-trap of “Nar,” and the industrial-gospel “Massive Will,” an aperitif of the revolution to come. EMEL seeks a world of resilience and unity on the powerful, salvific, and feminist MRA. “I don't create things to be consumed,” she says. “I hope it transcends time, transcends boundaries, transcends cultures. Music can change the world.”

WHO WE ARE:
Gaia Music Collective is an NYC-based creative community seeking to foster a more connected world through collective music-making. Founded in June of 2021 by Matt Goldstein in a living room in Brooklyn, this project was born out of a desire to create accessible, inclusive, playful spaces for people to explore connection, expression, healing, and release through collaborative song - spaces where folks feel empowered to make music free of judgment or expectation, and to make new friends as our full, beautiful, authentic selves.
We believe that communal music-making is a fundamental human practice, and this project seeks to build spaces for folks to nurture their relationship to music, whether they're shower singers, professional musicians, or anything in between.
All are welcome in this community: all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, classes, religions, abilities, national origins, languages, and musical experiences. All we ask is that you bring an open mind, a desire to connect, and a willingness to leave judgment of self and others at the door.
In short - we're here to sing, to play, to connect, to grow, and to have a good time!
With love,
The Gaia Team
