Join us on Ocean Drive on June 30th for a performance of Tango in the Park with Gabriel Mores as part of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series, a free, weekly concert series presented by the Ocean Drive Association. Pack a picnic blanket or lawn chair to stake out your seat on the lawn. Showtime is at 6:00 PM.
Through Mores Symphonic Tango, Gabriel Mores presents the Argentine tango through versions for symphonic orchestra to the new generations of musicians and audiences of the most diverse countries. The project is based on the works of Mariano Mores, one of the most important tango composers in Argentina and a pioneer in performing Symphonic Tango. The musical body of work composed by Mariano Mores includes many and very successful works that have a remarkable permanence and universality, therefore making them more attractive for a wide variety of audiences. Gabriel Mores has done the meticulous work of restoration and digitization of the original arrangements that his grandfather, Mariano Mores, played. These scores are ready to be discovered or re-discovered by symphony orchestras (youth and professional) and audiences around the world.
These events are free and open to the public-- and will take place in Lummus Park between 14th Street and 14th Place. Bring your chair, blanket, and picnic - ENJOY! Rainy-day location is inside The Betsy Hotel!
