About this Event
Key Topics in Restorative Dentistry presents a symposium on Occlusion and Tooth Surface Loss by experts who will provide an insight into some of the important aspects of diagnosing, managing and treating different presentations of teeth with attritive, erosive or abrasive tooth surface loss and general occlusal problems.
Aws Alani will begin the day with an overview of the physiological, pathological and psychological factors to consider. He will appraise the different structural changes of teeth as tissue volume reduces in addition to factors associated with loading the compromised tooth. He will appraise the various approaches to management and provide an overview of the Dahl approach and the new treatment opportunities with digital tools and apparatus. Aws will then provide a tips and tricks overview on the diagnosis and management of occlusal problems and how best to interpret clinical signs into the treatment that is required.
In the afternoon, Mahul Patel will then provide a comprehensive pathway of both analog and digital planning the TSL case. He will appraise the various inter-relating factors between the laboratory and clinic. He will disect the various different approaches to managing the localised and generalised case with practical techniques and give an in-depth stepwise pathway from the diagnostic process right the way through to case completion and review, and failure and the management of this.
The symposium will be held at the Cubic Theatre in the London Transport Museum Covent Garden.
