IFS is a compassionate, respectful, and non-pathologizing counseling approach shown to be effective for a
variety of concerns, including trauma, addictions, and relationship difficulties. This presentation will cover IFS concepts, benefits, and provide basic experiences useful for a counselor's self-leadership and helping skills.
Morning Session:
- Learn the history and core concepts of IFS and how it explains challenging issues and behaviors.
- Healing potential of IFS when working with clients, colleagues, and supervisees.
- Learn how IFS Self-Leadership can improve supervision with licensing candidates and enhance working relationships.
- The ethical practice of IFS therapy with clients' application of IFS principles when collaborating with colleagues and licensing candidates will be addressed.
Afternoon Session:
- Participants will have opportunities to experience and practice IFS techniques for themselves.
- Presenters will guide you through practical IFS exercises and experiences to better equip you in understanding and applying IFS introductory principles.
- Specific exercises include foundational IFS guided meditations such as the path exercise and getting to know your true Self.
6 hours of CEUs for LPC/LMFT will be available. (Free for OCA Members/$75 for non-members)
