Observations in Black - a Pictorial Celebration of Black History Month - Exhibit and Reception

Join us Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 4:00 PM at the Altadena Library for an artist meet & greet reception coinciding with a photography exhibit running February 1st through March 31st. The 9th edition of Observations in Black is an annual event in recognition of Black History Month. Come immerse yourself in a captivating exhibit of black and white photography that showcases the unique culture, greatness, and resilience that exemplifies the African American community.

Nestled in the heart of Altadena's historical Christmas Tree Lane, our library will be transformed into a vibrant gallery space, filled with scores of thought-provoking images and poignant narratives of public figures, local heroes, and everyday faces all woven together to illuminate a tapestry of enduring pride.

During the reception, guests will have the opportunity to engage with event founder and noted photographer, Alfred Haymond as he shares his reflections and commentary on the collection of images curated for the 2025 exhibit. This is a unique chance to participate in a dialogue where we can learn, connect, and revel in the rich heritage of the African American community in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere open to everyone.

Don't miss out on this extraordinary celebration of Black History Month. Mark your calendars and join us at the 9th annual Observations in Black photography exhibit for an unforgettable experience!
