Science and art combine in this introduction to observational sketching with scientific illustrator Julia Ditto. Start the day by practicing the basics, and by the afternoon apply what you have learned by sketching the marine animals in the Anchorage Museum’s tidal tank. Designed for students 18+.
$60 materials fee, includes museum admission. Museum members receive a 10% discount. Registration required.

Julia Ditto is a natural science illustrator from Anchorage, Alaska. She primarily works in graphite, watercolor and digital painting to create visuals for communicating science.
This program is held in conjunction with the Anchorage Museum’s Arctic Marine Science: Sikuliaq to Shore exhibition, now on view on the first floor.
