Objects & Origins: Writing Through Personal Artifacts
Advertisement
This generative workshop invites participants to explore memory, culture, and identity through meaningful objects. Writers are encouraged to bring an object from their own life, or choose from a selection provided, and use it as inspiration for poetry, journaling, fiction, or creative nonfiction. The goal is to help writers generate new work rooted in personal and cultural memory while encouraging cross-genre experimentation in a supportive, low-pressure environment. By focusing on everyday objects, participants will discover how ordinary items can carry layered histories, emotions, and meaning. Open to all experience levels and genres, with an emphasis on exploration rather than perfection.
