About this Event

Objects & Memory: Archiving Palestine Workshop

Join us for a workshop with two local artists - Mona Gazala and Ayat Ibrahim - to explore the powerful connection between objects and memory. Using examples of her own work, Mona will detail how Palestinians have created archives using items from our homeland to protect and remember stories, culture, and identity. Ayat will explain the power and purpose of archiving, and lead a workshop in how to imagine and create an archive to reflect your family's history.

Please bring items that inspire memories or connect you to your own family's experience to share with the group. You will have the chance to be photographed with your item if you would like to participate in Mona's current project, which will be exhibited at the Columbus Main Library in the fall!
