A guided hike all about the oak woodlands and creekside habitat at Rancho CaƱada del Oro Open Space Preserve!
About this Event

Come learn about oak woodlands, creekside habitat, and the history of these open spaces.

We will begin with a mindfulness meditation in nature and an introduction of the Seek app for identifying plants and the Merlin app for identifying birds on your phones. Download these free apps before the event!

This leisurely introductory hike begins on the 0.5-mile paved Llagas Loop Trail around a meadow, then to the 1.0-mile dirt trails along a portion of the Llagas Creek Trail and Longwall Canyon Trail.

The first 0.5 miles of trail is paved and ADA compliant: good for strollers, walkers, wheelchairs, and those needing level ground to walk and explore. The second half of this event is on level dirt trails: great for small children, off-road strollers and wheelchairs, and those who enjoy gentle, short trails. All levels and abilities are welcome to attend!

Each ticket is for one parking spot, you will only need one ticket per car. Feel free to bring as many friends in your car as you can safely fit. Please meet in the OVERFLOW parking lot past the main parking area.

***If you unable to attend this event, please cancel your registration so others may attend***
