About the artists

HIGH FLYER can be defined as a rambunctious fender bender of alt-rock and funk. Established in 2019, they ensure upbeat infectious grooves, slick guitar licks, and neck-breaking bass lines. These four rowdy guys will have you bobbing your heads and shaking your shoulders. The band has gigged around well-known Toronto venues, with their home base at the Dakota Tavern. In 2022 the group played The Andy Kim Christmas show in support of CAMH at Massey Hall and opened up for Barenaked Ladies on their Hometown Holidays tour across Ontario. Currently, they have two singles released, have established radio time on stations worldwide and are proud to present their first EP “Manuka” released on all platforms on October 1st, 2021

Kingston’s OAKRIDGE AVE. are quickly making a name for themselves as one of the region’s hottest emerging bands. Featuring a lineup of four dynamic musicians — Harrison Stewart-Juby, Thomas Draper, Joe Kenny, and Sean Patterson — the group often draws inspiration from their hometown, with the Limestone City providing a major influence on the band's identity. With their modern indie-rock style, Oakridge Ave. evokes the familiarities of the genre, while adding in hints of pop and grunge, creating a unique sound of sun-soaked rock thoroughly leaden with deep textures and ear candy. Patterson's melodic vocal hooks, stacked choruses and nostalgic lyrics establish themes that tap into deeper questions of humanity and what binds people together despite our differences. Through the band’s strong musical craftsmanship, with Draper’s masterful guitar riffs, Kenny’s driving bass, and Stewart-Juby’s heavy percussion, Oakridge Ave. creates a vivid and fresh sound with maximum colour saturation. Their sophomore album Wind Up/Let Go, which was produced by JUNO winner Hawksley Workman, was released on September 15, 2023. The new record marks a new and exciting sound for the band, pushing their boundaries as musicians and chasing a unique and powerful indie-pop aesthetic.
