About this Event

Greetings community!

On Thursday, October 6th from 6-8pm, we will be holding a Town Hall for Small Businesses in preparation for the November 2022 mid-cycle election. This will be an opportunity for small businesses, workers, entrepreneurs and community members to learn about what's at stake for us on the November ballot.

Our Town Hall will center and amplify the voices of the small business community and grassroots organizers in Oakland. We'll be focusing on Progressive Business Tax ballot measure and hear from folks what city-wide and district-specific needs matters most to the small business community right now? How can we come together to get our needs met and build towards a long-term solution?

  • This event will be held indoors, at the Restore Oakland restaurant space (street level entrance on International Blvd)
  • 5 min walk from Fruitvale BART station
  • Metered street parking available (free after 6pm)
  • Masks required indoors when not eating or drinking
  • Light food and snacks will be provided
  • Spanish language support provided

We are network of entrepreneurs, grassroots organizers, artists and financial innovators in Oakland who collectively-govern a $10M loan fund and entrepreneurship program for Black, African-American, Indigenous, Latinx, and AAPI Entrepreneurs of color in the East Bay. Our loans range between $10,000 to $250,000 which include: free business advising, financial mentorship, and civic opportunities to build power and leverage economic, political and social change.
