Oakland Roots | 2023 Open Tryouts Registration

Come tryout at the current Oakland Roots Training Facility (formerly the Oakland Raiders Training Facility) and play at one of the top training facilities in Northern California. Top players from each tryout will be invited to the Invitational Combine on Sunday, January 22, 2023 with a minimum of 1 player to be invited into preseason camp in January/February 2023.

COVID-19:

All players must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Please submit proof of vaccination upon arrival at the tryout via a vaccination card. On the day of the event, before entering the field, each participant must also complete a COVID-19 symptom check.

FAQs:

Can guests watch from the sidelines or enter the facility?

Guests are not allowed in facility or field area to watch tryouts. Guests can stay in the parking lot during event.

Are there minimum age requirements?

Open to males ages 16 and over. *Must be accompanied by an adult to sign tryout waiver*

What should I bring to the tryout?

Players must come prepared with their own cleats, socks, gloves (goalkeepers), shin guards or any other equipment related to their position. Black shorts and white shirts are required.

What do I need to check-in at the tryout?

Please bring an ID (driver license, passport, etc.) plus confirmation of registration (email receipt, printed ticket or mobile ticket).

What if it rains?

Tryouts will take place rain or shine.

Does the club cover any tryout costs?

Players are responsible for their own travel costs and transportation. As part of our commitment to making soccer accessible to the community we are offering a fee waiver for anyone expressing financial hardship or reason for needing a fee waiver/discount.
