The Oakenshaw & Woodlands Scarecrow Festival was started in 2019 to bring the residents of Oakenshaw and Woodlands together. We had fantastic weather and it was a great success.
This year, our Scarecrow Festival weekend will run from Saturday 29th June to Sunday 30th June. Theres no restrictions as to what you can make, it's entirely up to you. Display your creations between 9-am on the Saturday morning to 3-pm on the Sunday, so people can view them during the weekend and vote for their favourites. Hopefully we'll have some great weather and we can all join in the fun.
You can use this app to register your Scarecrow so we know where you are, follow the Scarecrow trail, and vote for your favourite Scarecrows. Or use our Facebook group to cast your vote. A link will become active on the Sunday morning.
You can leave your Scarecrow out for as long as you want, or take it down after the weekend. Its entirely your choice.
This year we hope to be bigger and better, and we're hoping local businesses get involved and donated some prizes. So get your thinking caps on. Register, Create and Display your Scarecrows.
