About this Event
At NYU Tandon, we believe sustainability is not a spectator sport and are working
hard to advance engineering solutions for climate change and environmental
pollution. To celebrate these efforts, we invite you to join us in the Sustainable
Engineering Summit on December 5th, at 1:30 PM.
The event will feature a series of talks, panel discussions, poster demonstrations,
and a networking reception bringing together the sustainable engineering
community at NYU and beyond.

from Stanford University and Mr. Jamie Torres-Springer from the Metropolitan
Transportation Authority (MTA) as our keynote speakers!

More about our keynote speakers:
Prof. Mauter is an Associate Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at
Stanford University and directs its Water and Energy Efficiency for the
Environment Lab (WE3Lab) with the mission of providing sustainable water
supply in a carbon-constrained world. Prof. Mauter also serves as the research
director for the National Alliance for Water Innovation, a $110-million DOE
Energy-Water Desalination Hub addressing water security issues in the US.
Mr. Torres-Springer serves as President of MTA Construction & Development. In
his role, he is responsible for the delivery of the MTA's $55 billion capital plan
through innovative management of construction work for subways, buses,
commuter railroads, bridges and tunnels – all central to NYC's climate change
adaptation plans.
