NYU Game Center Lecture Series Presents: Alumni Developers Panel

Join us for an evening with Jenny Jiao Hsia & AP Thomson (of and ), Julián Cordero (of ) & Gabe Cuzzillo (of , , ). What do these NYC-area developers have in common? They've all released games this year, earned attention and awards for their efforts... and they're all graduates of the NYU Game Center, where many of their projects and collaborations took root in the early days of development! Of course, releasing a game is a long and complex road, and all of their acclaimed works grew and evolved over years. What's it like to release a game in 2025? How does your vision change in unexpected ways? And what's on the horizon? We'll discuss all this and more on a panel moderated by Naomi Clark, chair of the NYU Game Center.

Consume Me
Hey remember when your parents, your friends, and society at large all conspired to make you feel ugly, lazy, stupid, and unloved despite the brilliant human spirit contained within you? No? Well, allow us to refresh your memory via the timeless medium of a slice-of-life role-playing game! In Consume Me, you take on the role of Jenny, young, in love, and entering her final year of high school. Make meticulous scheduling decisions to maximize your glow-up! Solve the puzzle game of dieting! Evade distractions as you pursue scholarly success! Do chores to get money from mom at a rate much lower than minimum wage! Can you win the heart of the boy of your dreams? Can you hold on to it? Can you chart a course towards a sustainable future? Can you fit just one more TODO goal on your plate, or is it already full to bursting? Most importantly, does any of this matter--either in the game, or in a broader sense? I don't have time to spoil the story here, so I'll just give you a free tip: if you have the spare money, buy some coffee at the corner store and drink it for an extra free-time unit.

despelote is a soccer game about people. Get immersed in the streets and parks of Quito through the eyes and ears of eight year old Julián. Dribble, pass and shoot your soccer ball around town, and see what happens when you kick it someone's way. Feel the city change as Ecuador comes closer than ever to qualifying for the World Cup.
Baby Steps

Hike the serene mountains by placing each footstep yourself, in original physics-based gameplay from the minds behind Ape Out and Getting Over It. Take in the sights, fall in love with the local fauna, and try to find meaning in a wasted life. Get ready to fall for Nate, in Baby Steps, a literal walking simulator.
