ABOUT DAVI:
Hailed as “LA's best kept secret”, David “DAVI” Khanjian grew up surrounded by the sounds of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Deeply passionate about music since childhood, Davi trained as a vocalist at the prestigious Komitas State Conservatory's music department in Yerevan, Armenia. He began producing electronic dance music at 17 years old and shortly thereafter became a resident DJ at Monte Cristo, the most prestigious night club in Armenia's capital city.
But it wasn't until his move to Los Angeles that the magic truly began to unfold. Davi dove into the underground scene there, spending countless hours in the studio while also playing at local Los Angeles clubs nights like Monday Night Social at Playhouse, Avalon, and Vanguard. Combining his unique groove, stabbing melodies and deep pads, Davi dedicated himself to polishing his production skills. In just a few months, DJs from Hernan Cattaneo to Jody Wisternoff to Eelke Kleijn were all supporting Davi's dance floor bombs. After a chance meeting, Robert Babicz became both a mentor and a friend, opening many doors for the talented young producer. Davi became the first artist to remix Robert on his new label Babiczstyle and today Davi's releases on labels such as Rebellion, Anjunadeep, Treibstoff, Hope Recordings, and Baroque are frequently found in the charts and DJ sets of the likes of Guy J, Nick Warren, 16 Bit Lolitas and Neil Quigley.
In 2010 Davi became a resident DJ for Insomniac Events, where he established his residency at Exchange LA and began playing Insomniac Festivals including twice at Escape from Wonderland opening for Richie Hawtin’s Enter stage. He has since shared the decks with John Digweed, Sasha, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Green Velvet, Art Department, James Zabiela and Hernan Cattaneo to name a few.
