About this Event
Please join friends and family for our 22nd annual summer tradition of great classical music with the NY Philharmonic under the stars and in
This stunning panoramic sunset surrounded with all the trimmings, is never outmatched by the warmth and beauty of the people with whom we will share this evening. An exquisite and soulful experience, an evening that will be remembered for years to come.
Every year we have new attendees that make it a point to return year after year, so be a part of the tribes long tradition.
It's honestly one of the most iconic events that NYC has to offer and an institutional favorite/secret amongst our city’s summer dwellers who know what is what and don’t just strut. You’ll leave the lawn with a deeper appreciation of what it means to be a New Yorker and tilt the scale heavily in favor of summer as your favorite time of year in the city.
We like to cut it at 7:30, so come at 6:30, mingle, tell Omar Happy Birthday and find your spot on one of the many blankets laid out mad early for your royal enjoyment. Kick your shoes off, expose those cute summer socks, pop a rosé all day or a glass of your favorite natural wine, roll a spleef and select a plate of your perfect pairings.
WHAT TO BRING:
If you find the time, bring a dish or your favorite summer finger food or maybe a couple bottles of your perfect summer wine.
A plate or dish of your choosing, would be ideal, but If you can't, no worries, remember though that participation always makes everything better.
PROGRAM TO INCLUDE:
Copland - Fanfare for the Common Man
Beethoven - Symphony #5
Rossini - William Tel Overture
J. Stauss I & II -
On the Beautiful Blue Danube
Die Fledermaus Overture
ARTISTS:
Jasper van Zweden - Conductor
Bomsori Kim - Violin
HOW YOU GET THERE:
The Great Lawn is located mid-park between 79th and 86th streets.
The closest subway stops are the B and C trains at West 81st Street or West 86th Street, the 1 train at West 79th Street or West 86th Street, and the 4, 5, and 6 trains at East 86th Street.
Westside Entrance: West 81st st or West 86th st
Eastside Entrance: East 79th st or 85th st
WHAT TO WEAR:
Come as early as you'd like and dress the part. Summer dresses abound and boys, please wear colorfully crazy socks.
Remember the truism in this and in all things, as Bukowski pointed out, “ Style is a difference, a way of doing, a way of being done.”
Also, a pillow for you and yours would serve you REALLY well. We will have some, but they go quick.
HOW YOU FIND US:
*look for the disco ball balloon floating above us, obviously.
In case the disco halo fails, then just go close to the 2nd baseball diamond from the front, on the right hand side.
We’re usually just in front of the dirt part, in front of the stack of speakers. You’ll see a glow of a thousand candles and a hundred beautiful souls.
A Couple o' Things:
1. We're always the loudest group there, so remember to try n keep it quiet during the performance. “Shhhh!!!”, says the inner Karen.
2. Please please please come early for yours and others optimal enjoyment.
That way, all can get acclimated, catch up, drink, eat and relax before the show begins.
Please don’t arrive at the performance time, everyone will be settled and it’s disruptively rude to people already there.
Trust us, come early.
See you there!
Please WhatsApp me with an exact number of your guests and what you’re bringing.
