The NWTF Convention and Sport Show is an annual event that celebrates the achievements of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) and promotes the life-changing power of the outdoors. In 2026, the convention marked its 50th anniversary, bringing together a diverse audience of over 55,000 participants at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. This vibrant gathering features more than 400 exhibitors showcasing a wide range of products and services related to outdoor sports and activities. Attendees can explore 90,000 square feet of exhibiting space, where businesses have the opportunity to promote their brands and connect with a passionate audience eager to engage with the outdoors.
At the heart of the convention is the NWTF Grand National Calling Championships, the premier competition of its kind in North America. Participants of all ages compete for more than $25,000 in cash and prizes across eight divisions. This competition draws the best callers who utilize various techniques and calling devices, such as natural voices, latex mouth calls, and friction calls, to impress judges and audiences alike. Notable competitors include Ryan Greathouse, Kaleb Payton, and Tyler Presley, who have made significant marks in their respective categories. Additionally, the event features taxidermy competitions that showcase outstanding artistic renditions, with categories for both wild turkey and white-tailed deer. Awards are given in various divisions, including the Master of Masters and Amateur divisions, highlighting the exceptional talent within the community.
The NWTF Convention also serves as a platform to recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to wildlife conservation and hunting heritage. Awards such as the Volunteer of the Year and Wildlife Manager of the Year are presented to honor those who have dedicated their efforts to these causes. With a focus on education, competition, and celebration, the NWTF Convention and Sport Show continues to be a cornerstone event for outdoor enthusiasts, fostering connections and inspiring future generations to embrace the outdoors.
