OPTIMISING THE PATIENT ACROSS THE SURGICAL PATHWAY FOR GASTROINTESTINAL CANCER – A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY APPROACH
About this Event

This course will provide an insight into the evidence base and the practical application of a multidisciplinary approach to the management of patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery for cancer.

The course will focus on the following topics:

• Pre-operative nutritional optimisation and prehabilitation

• Anatomical changes after surgery and associated consequences

· Parenteral nutrition after surgery

· Management of high output stomas

• Survivorship following surgery for oesophagogastric cancer

Target audience:

This study day is aimed at Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s) and Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) working in the area of GI surgery, colorectal cancer and oesophagogastric cancer.
