South Carolina Ballet is excited to announce its highly anticipated performances of Nutcracker at the Koger Center for The Arts this holiday season. Perfect for families and couples alike, this beloved truly classical ballet production promises a magical evening filled with romance, adventure, and wonder, making it an ideal choice for families and a date night for loved ones.
Due to popular demand, South Carolina Ballet has added even more performances of Columbia’s favorite holiday tradition, Nutcracker, offering a total of seven spectacular performances on December 14th, 15th, 21st, and 22nd. This year’s production, inspired by the rich history of the South, is thoughtfully updated for a modern and diverse audience. Every scene will be enhanced by our new full set of custom-made backdrops reflecting the high degree of artistic and production standards synonymous with South Carolina Ballet and making the entire production more vibrant, colorful, and sumptuous than ever before.
The courtship between Clara’s sister and the Lead Cadet adds an extra touch of romance, making it an ideal evening for couples seeking a special holiday experience.
In addition to the stunning choreography and lavish costumes, audiences will be treated to intricately designed backdrops that showcase classic Southern charm. From grand mansions to majestic trees draped in snow, each scene is crafted with great attention to detail, ensuring an immersive experience like never before.
