Doors at 4 p.m.
Art vendors & free kid-friendly activities outside on the lawn.

In addition to an evening of curated music, art, and performance, Nurture Fest is a fundraising event and celebration of the two recipients of the inaugural Nurture Recording Grant, Sarah Hinds (Gainesville) and Savannah Zara (St. Augustine). The grant is available to two women musicians who: 1) do not already have solo original music available for streaming online, 2) who have children they care for/have cared for living in their home, and 3) have at least one original song they would like to professionally record and release. The grant covers studio time for the two recipients at Heartwood Soundstage to record one original song each, as well as the cost of setting up each artist with an online music distributor to make their track (and future tracks) available to earn royalties across music streaming platforms.
Background on Nurture Recording Grant: The Nurture Recording Grant is about paying it forward. Back in 2013, St Augustine entrepreneur Danielle Gustafson paid $600 for studio time for Maggie Clifford to record two of her songs. They struck a handshake deal that “if the songs ever earn profit, Gustafson’s investment will be repaid.” Fast forward to 2025 and one of those songs, Earth My Body, has been streamed on Spotify almost 12,000,000 times, and the other, We Are Family, recently became Clifford’s third original track to surpass 1,000,000 total streams on Spotify. These tracks have now earned back Gustafson’s $600 investment many times over. When contacted about sending money to repay her, Gustafson stated that she did not want the money. From that moment, the two began brainstorming ways to pay it forward instead. Out of those conversations, the Nurture Recording Grant was conceived and set into motion.
