Phish has created a 4-decades-long legacy of creativity, energy, and humor, experimenting with blending rock with every other style of music imaginable, large-scale stage antics, crowd interactions and inside jokes spanning decades, and even a secret language. Shafty came into existence in 2012 to bring all of those elements, infused with its own set of personalities and jokes, to the smaller stage in the Pacific northwest. Expect the unexpected, wild twists and turns, fakeouts and teases, fresh takes on classic songs, surprising covers (within covers!), and a solid high energy night of good times and music. Dorado combines musical sophistication with funky badass grooves and raw talent. I hear everything from Steely Dan to Beck. It is really groovy stuff.
