Nuketober: How to Join
A month-plus wind sports event run by Urban Surf. Oct 16 to Nov 30. Free to enter. Surfr PRO is not needed. Prizes TBD.
Who can play?
Kite (twin tip), kite foil, wing, parawing, and SUP foil. Kite and kite foil are separate categories.
Steps to join
1. Download the Wind Games app and create an account.
2. Download the Surfr app (free) and sign up.
3. In Wind Games, join the community Urban Surf Nuketober.
4. Once you're in the community, the available challenges appear. Join the ones for your category (see below).
5. Record your sessions in Surfr. Once you've joined a challenge, your sessions appear in it automatically.
Challenges by category
Kite (twin tip) and kite foil
• Big air
• Total number of jumps
• Total distance
• Endurance (hours ridden)
Wing, parawing, and SUP foil
• Wing distance
• Wing endurance
Tracking your sessions
• Phone in a dry bag or waterproof pouch: free, tucked into your wetsuit. Works for tracking jumps.
• Smart watch: Apple Watch, Wear OS, or Garmin. Leave your phone on the beach. Use a secure strap, since standard watch bands often aren't enough for kiteboarding.
Good to know
• Sessions recorded between Oct 16 and Nov 30 count, even if you join a challenge later.
• Join late? Earlier sessions in the window still count.
• Prizes are TBD. Check back for updates.
