Scintillating Sitar


Indrajit Banerjee who has won many awards is one of the leading exponents of Maihar Gharana. Born into a musical family he was inspired by his mother who was a disciple of the late Pt. Nikhil Banerjee. He then learnt from his uncle Pt. Kartick Kumar who was a senior disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar. Indrajit has a special touch on sitar that combines technical virtuosity with sensitivity. He has toured extensively abroad and has also composed music for several albums and award winning documentary films.


He will be accompanied by Hindole Majumdar on tabla.
