De Latin jazz-mainstay voor vele jaren (12 succesvolle albums tot op heden) – is vernieuwd!Nueva Manteca is terug in al zijn glorie – een nieuwe, adembenemende band met een frisse, internationale line-up afkomstig uit Nederland, Venezuela, Duitsland en Uruguay. Door de jaren heen speelde de band op prestigieuze festivals, locaties en clubs over de hele wereld, waaronder Montreal Jazz Fest, Barranquijazz, SOB’s (NYC), Curaçao Jazz Fest, Yoshi’s
(San Francisco) en vele malen op het North Sea Jazz Festival. Een ander hoogtepunt was een optreden op Heineken Jazz in Puerto Rico samen met Paquito D’Rivera en Michel Camilo, en de band had vele beroemde gastmusici zoals Armando Peraza, Giovanni Hidalgo,
Orestes Vilató en Luis Conte. Op het Dizzypodium brengt de band onder andere een ode aan het legendarische Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers waarbij overbekende originals als Bluesmarch en Moaning op een verrassende, latin manier worden bewerkt. Natuurlijk is Dizzy veel te klein voor deze topband, dus wees er snel bij!

Nueva Manteca is back in all its glory – a new, breathtaking band with a fresh, international line-up hailing from the Netherlands, Venezuela, Germany and Uruguay. Over the years, the band has played at prestigious festivals, venues and clubs around the world, including Montreal Jazz Fest, Barranquijazz, SOB's (NYC), Curaçao Jazz Fest, Yoshi's (San Francisco) and many times at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Another highlight was a performance at Heineken Jazz in Puerto Rico together with Paquito D'Rivera and Michel Camilo, and the band had many famous guest musicians such as Armando Peraza, Giovanni Hidalgo,Orestes Vilato and Luis Conte. On the Dizzy stage, the band pays tribute to the legendary Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, in which well-known originals such as Bluesmarch and Moaning are edited in a surprising, Latin way. Of course Dizzy is way too small for this top band, so be quick!
