About this Event
NSPCA Microchipping & Information Clinic
The NSPCA will be running a FREE Microchipping Clinic for both cats and dogs on Sunday July 26th 2026.
The NSPCA Dog Training Team will also be on hand throughout the event, offering free advice on responsible dog ownership, training, muzzle fitting and muzzle training. Whether you have a question about your dog’s behaviour, training journey or simply want to chat with one of our trainers, we’d love to meet you and help point you in the right direction.
Microchipping is a quick, painless process and the most effective and easy way of reuniting owners with their pet should they ever go missing. It is also your proof of ownership for your pet.
Why Microchipping is Important:
- Permanent ID – Unlike collars or tags, a microchip can’t be lost or removed.
- Reunites You Quickly – If your pet goes missing, shelters, vets and pounds can scan the chip to find you fast.
- Required by Law – In Ireland the microchipping of dogs is a legal requirement.
- Worldwide Recognition – Works anywhere, even if you travel or move.
- Peace of Mind – You’ll know your pet has a reliable way home if they’re ever lost.
What you will need on the day:
- Photo ID - Must be 18+ years
- Proof of address is required by the owner - ulility bill, statement
- Proof of ownership - dog licence, family photos
