NSBWEP Celebration of Excellence, 5-Year Anniversary

is thrilled to host its inaugural "Celebration of Excellence" event, saluting five years of resilience and vibrant contributions to the wedding and events industry. Created to uplift and empower Black professionals, this association has always put its members first, and it is time to celebrate their achievements and the allies who have stood by them.

Over two electrifying days in Washington, DC, the festivities will kick off on June 15th with the "Culture and Cocktails Welcome Party" at , setting the tone with lively music and rich cultural vibes. On June 16th, the actual inception date of the association, the "Voice of the Community Breakfast" at the will provide a platform for meaningful dialogue. Later that evening, the grand "Symphony in Black Awards Gala" at , a black-tie affair, will honor excellence and innovation. This date also coincides with the celebration of Juneteenth, adding an extra layer of significance as we honor the emancipation of African Americans.

Washington, DC, the nation's capital, is a city rich in history and culture. Known for its iconic monuments, museums, and vibrant neighborhoods, it offers a unique backdrop for our celebration. From the historic National Mall to the bustling streets of Georgetown, DC's dynamic energy and diverse cultural scene make it the perfect location to honor our association's milestones and the vibrant spirit of Juneteenth. With approximately 100 wedding and industry professionals expected, this event promises to be a bold, intriguing celebration of Black culture and community spirit, open to members, non-members, and allies alike.

"Culture and Cocktails Welcome Party"

The first scheduled event of festivities will embrace networking and building connections with a cocktail reception moving through the multiple levels of the event space, Gallery O on H. Attendees will enjoy a culturally inspired event that will engage the Washington DC culture and notorieties through music and food. Dress Attire: Casual Chic. NSBWEP Members to wear their NSBWEP T-Shirt.

"Voice of the Community Breakfast"

This townhall symposium will welcome open dialogue for industry professionals to discuss their concerns and provide insight into the wedding and events industry. Attendees will enjoy a culturally inspired breakfast while connecting and enjoying collaborative conversations. In addition, we will celebrate Juneteenth with a special program. Dress Attire: Sunday Best. NSBWEP Members wear "Green".

"Symphony in Black Awards Gala"

The Symphony in Black Awards Gala...a vogue-inspired black-tie celebration is the pinnacle point of the entire celebration. This event will celebrate the association’s anniversary and its achievements, honor its members through an awards ceremony, and the celebration of Black Excellence. The event will include a cocktail reception, seated dinner, dancing, and much more! Dress Attire: Black-Tie (Vogue). NSBWEP Members to wear Black or Gold.
