The goal of this course is to develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Firearm Courses.

This 6-Hour course is the first course you will take and is required before continuing on in any other lessons in other NRA Courses for any of the NRA credentials you wish to obtain. The goal of this program is to develop instructors to teach NRA Basic Firearm Training courses according to the lesson plans and training standards of the National Rifle Association. The NRA Basic Instructor Training Course is designed to teach you how to teach others using NRA lesson plans and training methods.

Required Materials: Bring an empty 2 inch three-ring binder, highlighter, and a notepad. 

This 6-Hour class is completed in the classroom. Instructor candidates will receive the NRA Basic Instructor Manual and other instructor material.

Age Requirements

NRA Certified Instructors must be 21 years of age or older

NRA Assistant Instructors must be 18 years of age or older

NRA Apprentice Instructors are 13 - 17 years of age.

Please remember NRA Instructor Courses are performance-based courses. Instructor Candidates must possess the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for this level of training. You are not paying to automatically pass and become an NRA Instructor. You pay to have the opportunity to pass and become an NRA Instructor.

Classes, training and / or certification are for individuals who are not disqualified from possessing a firearm as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law.  Individuals who have been convicted of a crime of violence are disqualified.  In compliance with U.S. Federal ITAR Regulations, Student must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Resident with a Green Card.
