NRA Basic Pistol Pre-requisite for Instructor Course

We are offering both NRA and USCCA instructor certification courses at Manchester Firing Line for those ready to take the next step.
You’ll see two NRA-related course dates listed below:
The prerequisite for the NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Course will be held on 8/1/26.
The NRA Instructor Course will be held over two days on 8/29/26 and 8/30/26.
The USCCA Instructor Course will be offered later this year. I’m still working on locking down the exact dates, so please let me know if you’re interested.

1. NRA Basic Pistol Course (if you have a current certificate, this will suffice) Pre-Requisite Class for NRA Basic Pistol Certification
NRA Basic Pistol Course – LTC-002

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols.
Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules, and take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.
Students should bring:
Their own handgun but we also have a wide selection of rentals if you do not own a handgun
At least 50 rounds of ammo. Ammo is available at the range (rentals must use our ammo)
Eye and Ear protection is provided with the class.

2. NRA Instructor Pistol Shooting Course

A prerequisite for this course is you MUST have passed an NRA Basic Pistol course and can show your certificate or report. Manchester Firing Line is offering this course June 6th, 2026 and August 1st, 2026.
Welcome to the NRA Basic Pistol Instructor class! This class will teach the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for conducting NRA Basic Pistol classes. Before coming to class, ensure you: possess and demonstrate a solid background in firearm safety and shooting skills, are intimately familiar with each pistol action type, and demonstrate solid and safe firearms handling skills. Attendance in this course is not a guarantee of certification; you must successfully pass all coursework, pass a shooting qualification, and pass a written exam to become a certified instructor. Please practice the shooting qualification BEFORE you come to class! Please bring a pistol, 100 rounds of ammunition, a holster (NOT a Serpa), eye and ear protection, a baseball hat, and any snacks/drinks/lunch. I STRONGLY urge you to be NRA members; your NRA ID number is important.
