NPYC 2026 Poker Sit
Ahoy Mates!! All hands on deck for the Poker Sit, Friday October 9th at the Wall (Georgetown Waterfront). We'll have a 50/50 raffle as well.
You must be docked or rafted-up to the group NO LATER THAN 6:30pm on Friday.
We will have a stern-to-stern raft-up on the docks beginning early. Look for XXX's and XXX's boats. Buy-in for poker will be your charitable donation of $25 per hand with the first cards dealt at 7PM. Subsequent cards will be dealt every 20 minutes. The final reveal will be at 8:30 on the aft deck of XXX's yacht. There may be various other games throughout the evening - details to follow. There will be a reward for captains who bring their boats to the raft-up.
Details on rules to be explained at the event. Key points : for each hand of poker you contribute for, you will receive a total of 5 cards over the course of the evening. Cards are distributed (1 per hand you have) at the designated time interval (~20 minutes) at the designated boat (boats will be labeled with a sign: 1 through 5). Each card is in an envelope. You must NOT open the envelope until the reveal. Opened cards forfeit the hand. At the reveal, if you have more than 1 hand in play, you choose any unopened 5 cards to submit as a hand. They are revealed. You then choose the next unopened 5 cards to submit as a hand. High hand and low hand each split the prize.
We brought back the gold fish races in 2024, but will not be running the fish on this occasion. Stay tuned for the spring!
You'll start your poker hands on the XXX's boat at 7PM and the last card will draw on XXX's boat at 8:20pm, or as otherwise posted day of the event. We'll then convene on XXX's boat for the reveal at 8:30 or as otherwise announced on site.
Signage posted on site will explain what games and times are planned.
