About this Event
What will be covered?
This session will introduce you to Sketchnoting, a practical tool to aid learning, which makes use of words and simple pictures. Sketchnoting can benefit you by helping you to make memorable notes, plan work, reflect on your learning, and more. Many people with dyslexia or processing issues find it particularly useful.
In this practical session, you will discover what Sketchnoting is, how you can use it to aid your learning and have plenty of practice drawing to create your first Sketchnote.
Materials for the session:
As part of this session, Rachel will be doing a live demonstration for which we encourage you to get invovled!
To do so, you will need some A4 plain paper, a black pen for writing and drawing, and ideally some colored felt tips or pencils.
Don’t worry about your artistic skills! Your sketchnote is for your eyes only, so feel free to participate without any pressure.
Our special guest:
Meet our special guest, Rachel Burnham, who has been Sketchnoting for the past nine years. She has worked with people from various professional fields — engineers, healthcare professionals, forensic scientists, software designers, and librarians — to introduce them to using Sketchnoting in their learning and work.
You can find out more about Rachel and see examples of her Sketchnotes on LinkedIn: Rachel Burnham or on Pinterest: 27 Drawing, Sketchnotes & Visual Thinking ideas in 2024.
This event is set to take place on 28 November 2024.
