November Street Outreach: Show Up, Connect, Transform

Join Street Samaritans on Sunday, November 9th from 10 AM to 1 PM at TechNexus (20 N Wacker Drive), for a volunteer outreach experience that goes beyond giving—it’s about human connection, solidarity, and building community together.

We’ll start by packing care packages with the supplies people experiencing homelessness tell us they need most and sorting clothing donations. Then, in small groups, we’ll hit the streets of Chicago, bringing hot meals, clothing, care packages, and, most importantly, our presence, our attention, our care.

This is more than charity—it’s a chance to stand alongside our neighbors, to see them fully, to listen, to laugh, to share stories, to walk in solidarity. Every interaction matters. Every conversation changes the world in a small, but powerful way. This is a moment where your presence can be the reason someone feels seen, heard, and supported.

We believe the crisis of homelessness is solvable—and this is your chance to be part of the solution. By showing up as your full, authentic self, you help create a space where everyone can belong: our neighbors experiencing homelessness, our volunteers, and our community as a whole.

What to know before you join:

• No experience needed; just an open mind and an open heart.
• Open to all ages (under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian).
• Groups of any size welcome.
• Dress for the weather — we’ll be outside walking.
• Mobility accommodations available—just let us know at check-in.
• Friendly pets are welcome!
