November Songwriter's Sanctuary & Healthcare Clinic at PH Coffee

The Heartland Song Network presents the Songwriter’s Sanctuary every third Sunday of the month from 3:30-5:30pm, at PH Coffee (2200 Lexington Ave in Kansas City, MO). Sign up via Eventbrite or day of by 3:00pm. Music starts at 3:30pm (original music, solo or duo performances only)

Our November Event will also include a Free Musicians Healthcare Clinic provided by Midwest Music Foundation. The clinic will run from 12pm-5pm. Contact [email protected] for an appointment. Priority will be given to musicians, but the clinic is open to the public. More info here!

Please remember the following guidelines:

Songwriters may pre-sign through Eventbrite or the day of the event. Songwriters must be at PH Coffee, registered and checked in with the host by 3pm on that Sunday afternoon in order to perform. The music will start at 3:30pm. No one will be allowed to sign up once the music has started. There is no cost to participate. All ages, genres and levels of experience are welcome to perform.

The Format:

Each participating songwriter will get the chance to play one original song (solo or accompanied by no more than one other person). Backing tracks are allowed. The songwriter may introduce themselves and tell the name of the song (if it has one). In the interest of time, please avoid long descriptions. We want to make sure everyone who signs up gets a chance to perform. This is a family friendly event so please use discretion on the song selection and description of the song After the one song per songwriter rotation has been completed, those who wish to do another song in rotation shall commence if time allows.

Audience/Listening Room Expectation:

The public is welcome to attend and support at no cost. Those who care to have conversation about their songwriting and/or a particular song shall network and collaborate in an adjacent room. After the rotations have completed and time is available, voluntary song rounds may be organized. This is a listening room environment. Phones must be turned to silent and no talking during a performance. Please respect the performers.
