Come learn about the traditional Navajo Horsehair raku and traditional saggar firing techniques and participate in a community firing. The horsehair technique is used by the Navajo to honor a horse or celebrate the birth of a horse. It uses the horse hair to imprint beautiful delicate line designs into the pottery. Saggar firing achieves special effects by enclosing the piece in a shell and fuming it with specific materials. You can bring your own pieces to fire or pieces will be provided for you.
