November Craft Club!
About this Event
Make art and enjoy community at The Dabbler's Collective's monthly Craft Club!
At our November Craft Club, we will be channeling our favorite children's book artist Eric Carle as we explore the art of cut paper collage to create portraits of our favorite buildings. Whether this is your home, childhood house, favorite shop, restaurant, or a fictional place from your favorite book - anything goes!
We provide all the materials, including soooo many pages of hand-painted textures to collage with. We're here to give you the support you need while you enjoy self-guided craft time with friends new and old. While delighting in some delicious food and beverages from Tabletop, of course.
November Project:
We will be creating custom portraits of our favorite places using a cut paper collage method that invites a ton of texture and personality to the situation. We will provide an endless supply of painted textures to work with, as well as all of the supplies needed to create your portraits.
You can choose any space you'd like to create a portrait of - it doesn't have to be a house! Your favorite neighborhood spot, a relative's house you have fond memories of, or a place you've visited that makes you smile. Rules are there are no rules.
I highly recommend bringing a printed-out photo (printer paper is fine!) of your portrait subjects to use as a visual reference for this project!
It is much easier than using your phone, and is a great tool for drawing on to break the design down into simple shapes.
Very beginner-friendly, and would make a great holiday gift for someone you love!
Crafters can make as many portraits as they'd like, but can probably anticipate having enough time to complete 1-2 during the session.
