Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) and the Marine Mammal Care Center (MMCC) are collaborating on monthly Science & Art Workshops!

Workshop Description:
In this workshop we will learn about Alebrijes and find inspiration in their connections to the Mexican Indigenous tradition of D´ia De Los Muertos, whimsical creatures in modern Mexican Folklore. We will also be informed by deep sea creatures, especially rare, elusive and beautiful fish that have adapted to their dark and deep environments. We will be making mini Sea Alebrijes inspired by our own personalities.

En este taller aprenderemos sobre los alebrijes y encontraremos inspiración en sus conexiones con la tradición indígena mexicana del Día de los Muertos, criaturas caprichosas del folclore mexicano moderno. También nos inspiraremos en las criaturas de las profundidades marinas, especialmente en peces raros, esquivos y hermosos que se han adaptado a sus entornos oscuros y profundos. Crearemos mini alebrijes marinos inspirados en nuestras propias personalidades.
