Julien Baruch from Krull Smith Orchids will be presenting the topic of Bulbophyllums, including an overview of the latest breeding traits of the different species. Julien has been growing orchids his whole life, but his orchid knowledge really accelerated after joining the Sarasota Orchid Society. He went on to intern at the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens for the Million Orchid Project. From there, he moved to Apopka Florida
to work at Krull Smith where he has been learning from Frank Smith. For the past several years he has been working on the nursery’s hybridizing program.
Today, Julien also manages Krull Smith’s sales, website, and social media.
Julien is an associate judge for the American Orchid Society at the Florida North Central Judging Center.
This presentation will be virtual, but our usual meeting activities will take place. There will be a raffle, and time for show and tell orchids. Of course, please bring treats and beverages to share if you can.
For now, the virtual presentation will only be available in person at the meeting. Next year we plan to upgrade our technology to be able to offer links by email for those unable to attend in person.
