Discover how to grow and enjoy fresh, nutritious foods in "Nourishing the Neighborhood: Veggies and Blooms." Penn State Extension Master Gardeners will demonstrate companion planting techniques, highlighting beneficial vegetable and flower pairings, and guide participants through creating a take-home grow bag. An extension health and wellness educator will also prepare and share a spinach strawberry salad, showcasing a simple, flavorful way to combine fruits and vegetables for added color, fiber, and nutrition.
Part of a grant-funded series for Lebanon County seniors, this program supports those interested in the YMCA Community Garden and serves as a pickup location for Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers.
This event is being offered at no charge to participants.
