About this Event

Join us for an enriching culinary experience at "NourishHer: Women and Girls Cooking Class."

This transformative class is designed to empower women and girls with essential culinary skills, nutritional knowledge, and community support. Led by experienced chefs, participants will embark on a flavorful journey, learning to prepare nutritious meals on a budget while fostering connections with like-minded individuals.

Parent/Guardian Requirments:

Prior to each class, parents/guardians must be present to sign liability waivers for their child.

Location:

The cooking class will be held in the ELGA Credit Union Demonstration Kitchen. Upon entering the market and proceeding towards the seating area, you will find the kitchen on your far left, next to the winery store. Look for signage indicating the Demonstration Kitchen to guide you to the right location. If lost, please ask staff to guide you there.

What to Wear:

To ensure safety and hygiene in the kitchen, participants are required to wear appropriate attire. This includes:

  • Comfortable, closed-toe shoes with non-slip soles to prevent accidents.
  • Long pants to protect legs from hot spills and splatters.
  • Shirts with sleeves to provide coverage and avoid contact with food.
  • Hair tied back and secured with a hair tie or cap to prevent hair from falling into food.

What Not to Wear:

For the safety and comfort of all participants, please avoid wearing:

  • Open-toed shoes or sandals, as they do not provide adequate protection from spills and hot surfaces.
  • Long, dangling jewelry or accessories that may pose a safety hazard or interfere with cooking tasks.
  • Nail extensions or long nails that can potentially contaminate food or equipment.
  • Loose-fitting clothing that may catch fire or get caught in kitchen equipment.

Parking Note:

Please be aware that the Farmers Market is very busy on Saturdays, and a large portion of the parking lot is blocked off due to construction. We kindly ask that you make time to arrive early to find parking. Your punctuality is appreciated to ensure a smooth start to the class.

Come join us and nourish your body, mind, and spirit through the joy of cooking!
