About this Event
Join photographer Ian Watts and curator Lisa Anderson for an immersive conversation exploring one of the UK’s most significant photographic archives of the Notting Hill Carnival and Black British life.
Ian’s images capture the energy and struggle of the 1980s, 90s and 2000s, from the streets of Notting Hill Carnival to political protests and cultural milestones.
This unique event combines projected images from Ian’s archive with a specially commissioned soundscape by music producer BlackMale Beats, creating a layered journey through three decades of Black cultural memory.
Together, Anderson and Watts will reflect on the social and cultural history behind the images, followed by an open Q&A with the audience.
Tickets are Pay What You Can, with all donations supporting the Umoja Health Forum - a Camden charity championing health and wellbeing in African & Caribbean communities.
Part of Camden's 2025 Black History Season Programme.
