Our 16th year of open mic begins Wednesday December 4 upstairs at Globe Athens with a feature by Dr. Gordon Johnston. He is a poet, essayist, and fiction writer, and teaches literature at Mercer University in Macon.
His latest poetry book is "Where 'Here' Is Hard to Say" (2023). Dr. Johnston has also written books on Native American mythology, prehistory, and culture, including "Seven Islands of the Ocmulgee."
Join us for a holiday drink and hear great local poets! Open mic signup is December 4 at 6 pm at the Globe and readings begin upstairs at this one-time special start, 7:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
