~DESCRIPTION ~
This panel brings together black writers, directors & producers to discuss the power of diverse narratives and the impact of bringing marginalized voices to the forefront. Panelists will explore how creators stay true to their voice when telling their own stories and offer insights on maintaining authenticity while collaborating on others' projects.
Space is limited so we prioritize women and nonbinary creatives but event is open to all.

~PANELISTS~
Karen Joseph Adcock - Writer/Producer
Karen grew up in a small town in Louisiana, has a BA in film studies from Columbia University and an MFA in TV Writing and Producing from Loyola Marymount University. Her TV writing credits include an upcoming Amazon Prime series created by and starring Riz Ahmed; The Bear, Yellowjackets, Swarm, Atlanta and How I Met Your Father. She is currently adapting Ibi Zoboi's YA Novel "Pride" as a feature for Netflix.
Raven Jackson - Filmmaker/Poet
Raven Jackson is an award-winning filmmaker, poet, and photographer from Tennessee. Her work often explores intimacy, connection, and the body’s relationship to nature. Recently nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature and a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Director, Raven’s debut narrative film, All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt, made in partnership with Maria Altamirano, PASTEL, and A24, world-premiered in the US Dramatic Competition at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, and was named one of the top ten movies of the year by The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and RogerEbert.com.
Brittani Nichols - Director/Writer/ Executive Producer
Brittani Nichols is currently a Co-Executive Producer and Director on ABC’s Golden Globe and Emmy-winning show, Abbott Elementary. Suicide Kale, the feature film she produced, wrote, and starred, won the Audience Award at both Outfest and Newfest. Brittani has appeared on the Emmy-winning television shows, Transparent and A Black Lady Sketch Show and if she doesn't get a more recent credit soon, it's gonna really suck.
Shantira Jackson - Writer/Producer
Shantira Jackson is an Emmy nominated writer and producer based in Los Angeles. She has written for Big Mouth, The Amber Ruffin Show, and Clean Slate. She is currently a writer on CBS's late night show After Midnight.
