This half-day event will take place on Friday, November 14, at the Grand Hotel Vilnius (Universiteto g. 14).
The conference will examine how Russian culture, ideology, and imperial ambitions have been intertwined from the Tsarist era to the present day.
The discussion will address questions such as:
- How have Russian intellectual traditions justified and shaped imperial ideologies
- What continuities connect Tsarist, Soviet, and post-Soviet imperial agendas
- How literature, art, and philosophy have reinforced imperial narratives
- How contemporary Russian policies reflect historical patterns of authoritarianism and expansionism
The event will feature a keynote address, expert panels, and a video contribution from academics, journalists, and policymakers from Ukraine, the United States, Ireland, Germany, and Lithuania.
