Not Just Another Pretty Face Public Salon

Interested in collecting art, or curious how to get started? Join us for the public salon for our Not Just Another Pretty Face program at the Hyde Park Art Center, first floor!

Not Just Another Pretty Face is a collaborative commissioning project created by Hyde Park Art Center to arrange commissions between patrons and artists who created engaging and personalized art, ranging from traditional to very untraditonal.

2022 marks the ninth installment of Not Just Another Pretty Face, and will culminate with an unveiling event in September 2023, an exhibition in the Art Center's main gallery through November 2023, and a catalog documenting the art and participants.

Hyde Park Art Center's mission is to stimulate and sustain visual art in Chicago with the goal of making the city a place where artists live, work and thrive. At the core, Not Just Another Pretty Face seeks to:

• Activate local collectors to invest in their city's artists
• Encourage a new and diverse group of people to think of themselves as supporters and collectors of contemporary art
• Build lasting relationships between artists and patrons, created a new base of support for artists, and invest in Chicago's cultural vitality.

Enjoy food, drinks and mingling while you tour through an overview of talented artists and their work! It's a great way to see the wide variety of artists the Art Center supports, and what artists are creating in Chicago.
