Not bad for a fiver, revisited…. with Henry Normal

Many years ago Henry Normal came to Mushroom Bookshop in Nottingham and did a gig labelled as “”Not Bad for a Quid”. We argued over the Box Office split. Henry lost. But to be honest he was not bad.
Here we are, decades later, inflation has done its work so it’s “Not Bad for a Fiver”. True, Henry has read in some local libraries this year for free but our alleyway pet pigeon needs feed.
Refreshments are included and you can redeem that fiver on one of Henry’s books on the night. We all win. Including the pigeon, who is called Solomon. Solly to his friends.
Just out is Henry’s Collected Poems Volume 4 – which would be a good use for that fiver, making that 360 page de luxe hardback only £13.95. It includes all the poems from The Fire Hills, A Moonless Night and An Alphabet of Storms and more. The Fire Hills explores new landscapes armed only with a pen and unwarranted optimism.
A Moonless Night is poetry about embracing darkness and finding light, as the author explores the depths of his lack of substance. An Alphabet of Storms is a premature collection of posthumous poems.
We’re guessing you know who Henry Normal is, but if not… Nottingham lad, done OK, treads the boards including, the day before this, Morecombe Poetry Festival.
Booking essential.
