About this Event
Nostalgia has a place in all of our lives. They are the memories we look back to, they are the slogans that our politicians try to make great again, and they are the hidden stories within the history we read about.
This 1-day symposium explores nostalgia as our FRAMES OF REFERENCE.
With 12 panelists and 10 artists from various disciplines, the FRAMES OF REFERENCE symposium unites personal and provocative works around nostalgia.
The organizer, the Nostagain Network, is North America's first and largest student-led research group exploring the generative potentials of nostalgia; instead of seeing it as a past-based emotion of things that are lost, we see nostalgia as an active, social, and critical emotion that we can use to build a future, together.
