Join us for the inaugural Nose Magazine live reading event, an afternoon of readings and conversations centred around our sense of smell.
Sunday 19 July
4:00PM-6:00PM
The Oratory, Abbotsford Convent
Held in The Oratory of the Abbotsford Convent, this event brings together contributors from the first and second issue of Nose, exploring smell through art, literature, science and perfumery.
Featuring:
Erin Adams (smell artist)
Christopher Dodds (writer)
Justin Clemens (academic and writer)
Nicholas Trifiletti (perfumer and writer)
The afternoon will include live readings from Nose Issue 02 (Primed), a Q&A with contributors and refreshments, with wine from Mac Forbes.
There are two ticket options available for this event:
1. General Admission + Magazine ($55)
Includes entry to the live reading and a copy of Nose Magazine Issue 02 to read along with during the event.
2. General Admission ($25)
This option is for those who already own a copy of Nose Magazine or want to attend and not purchase a magazine. If you'd like to read along, bring your copy of Issue 02 with you on the day.
About Nose Magazine:
Nose is an independent print magazine cultivating olfactive curiosity, operating out of Naarm/Melbourne. Exploring scent through art, literature, science and culture, Nose publishes work that expands the way we think about smell. Our first issue was released in May 2025, followed by the second issue, Primed, in March 2026.
Venue access information:
The venue is wheelchair accessible with a step-free entrance. There are uneven footpaths throughout the grounds.
There are accessible toilets available, though not all toilet doors are automatic.
There is all day parking available in the car park directly across from the Convent on St Heliers Street near Gate One. There are two accessible on-street parking spaces located besides Gate One on St Heliers St. There are six accessible parking places are located at the front of the car park on the northern side of St Heliers Street. The entrance is near a dedicated pedestrian thoroughfare and road cross over.
