The Norwich Outdoor Painting Group welcomes artists of all abilities to explore the city's beautiful parks, historic streets, riverside walks and hidden corners, capturing the changing light, colours and character of Norwich one brushstroke at a time.

Whether you're an experienced painter or simply curious to pick up a sketchbook for the first time, this friendly group offers a relaxed and supportive space to create, learn and be inspired. Bring along your favourite painting or drawing materials, enjoy the fresh air and connect with others who share a love of creativity and the outdoors.

Where is the event?:

Meeting at Marzano's Cafe at 10am (just inside The Forum), the group will then walk together to the specified location close by in the city centre.

This taster session is the perfect opportunity to meet the group, try outdoor painting in a welcoming environment and experience the simple pleasure of slowing down to really observe the world around you. There's no pressure to create a masterpiece – it's about enjoying the process, building confidence and sharing ideas with fellow artists.

Outdoor painting is a wonderful way to practise mindfulness, improve your creative skills and discover new perspectives on familiar places. Every session offers a chance to connect with nature, your creativity and a community of like-minded people.

What to bring:

• Comfortable clothing and suitable footwear for being outdoors.
• A drink to keep you refreshed.
• A few lightweight art supplies, such as a sketchbook, pencils, pens, paints or any other materials you enjoy working with.

Don't have any art equipment? No problem! Pop into The Undercroft Gallery before the event and the team will do their best to provide you with some materials so you can still join in.
