Alnwick Harriers will be once again hosting the Northumberland Coastal Run. We are keen to work closely with our community and environment so we are continuing to restrict our numbers to 1000.The route is approximately 14 miles run through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty along the Northumberland coastal path from Beadnell Harbour to Alnmouth Estuary, keeping as close to the coast as possible.
The route starts on sand, then onto road, sand, trail, road and finishes on the beach at Alnmouth.
The race is not suitable for wheelchair users.
No animals are allowed within the race.
Minimum age of entry is 18.
Race start time is 9.30am at Beadnell and there is a 3 hour 30 minute cut-off, due to tide and safety. Water and chocolate bar will be waiting for you at the end.
We welcome all affiliated and non affiliated runners, both returning athletes and those new to our event. This event is fully marshalled and has first aid support throughout the route.
We can offer the option to transfer and this will be available up until 6 weeks prior to the event, June 14th 2026.
Entry fees - we have been able to reduce the cost from last year so it will now be
£25.00 for UKA/British Athletics affiliated runners (your membership number will be checked during the entry process)
£27.00 for non-affiliated runners (select the non-UKA/British Athletics option at the membership check)
An administration fee of 5% will be applied to each entry by our online entry system partner Results Base.
No refunds under any circumstances, and deferrals can be applied for on an individual basis only through the race director at [email protected].
This year you will have the option to purchase a unisex t-shirt for £12.50, selecting no t-shirt or donating the t-shirt value to the North Northumberland Hospice Care Charity.
The t-shirt option will not be available to entries made after 14th June 2026.
This is a Point-to-Point event so competitors must either book the shuttle bus to the start when entering or arrange their own transport. Please note there are no buses available after the race.
If you purchase the bus ticket then your race number will also contain your ticket onto the bus - only those with pre-purchased tickets will be allowed on board.
The bus transfer option will not be available for any entries made after June 14th 2026.
There is a designated car park at Alnmouth Football club, next to the bus collection point at Hipsburn school and there will be a small charge per car. This money is donated to Alnmouth Football Club for allowing use of their facilities and pitch for parking.
There is limited parking in Beadnell and Alnmouth, please be respectful of the local people and use the designated car park.
There will be a prize giving event at the end of the event and those not able to remain will have their prizes posted on.
