Open to any player, K-12No memberships required.
Tournament: Check-in begins at Noon. Instruction and review of rules begins promptly at
12:15pm. Please, be on time. Those arriving late may not start until after the first games are
completed.
Quick Pairings. Players are matched appropriately after each game is completed. Clocks and
notation are not required.
2 Sections: Players rated 500 and above by the USCF are in the first section and all others are in
the second section. In the second section, players must complete at least 6 games to qualify for
a trophy. Note: Sections may be combined.
Registration/Payment: Online at www.championshipchess.net; Click Register: Tournament
Registration Fee: $25.00 through April 14; $30 through April 21; then, $35 through 11:59pm
April 27. $45 onsite registrations will be processed after play begins.
Note: This is not a “drop-off” tournament. Adult supervision is required for all players.
Trophies to the top players in both sections and to all players with a plus score.
Some Basic Rules:
Touch move/touch capture.
No discussion of another ongoing game.
Distractions are not allowed. (humming, talking, playing with pieces, drumming on
table)
Raise hands for questions.
Players are not eliminated due to losing a game.
We will cancel or adjudicate games played slowly.
Parents are not allowed in the game play area.
